Does this fabric have a ripstop weave?

    • admin

No, in order to achieve a high enough waterproof rating there is no ripstop. However Xenon 1.1 does have ripstop if that is needed on your project.

  2. MathewSmith

How opaque is the Xenon sil 0.9… could it be used as a rain skirt going comando w/o problems?
I’m assuming black is the least see thru.

    • admin

You cannot see through the fabric

  3. Michael Pandolfo

I’m looking for a ultra lightweight sil nylon for a DIY rain kilt. Would this be the best option?

    • Alex Thomas

Our Xenon line of fabrics are polyester but this would work perfect for your kilt.

  4. Joe Mikeska

Is Xenon fabric breathable? I’m looking for a fabric to make a vapor barrier sleep set from.

    • DutchWare Gear

I would go with the ARGON 90 or 67 as they are breathable and this is a waterproof fabric so it will not be.

  5. lynnbuys

I’m a little confused about the units when ordering. I need a yard of xenon sil 0.9 to make a rain kilt (assuming that one yard of fabric will come in the 58″ width). Do I order 1 unit? Thanks!

    • DutchWare Gear

Yes one yard will be 58″ wide and one yard of fabric is what we use to make our rain skirts.

Will dyneema tape stick to this material to repair small punctures or rips?

    • DutchWare Gear

No it will not stick to sil nylon.

Can this fabric be bought in 20’x20′ or even larger for tarp making? What would be the price of a 20’x20′ or a 25’x25′ cost me?

    • Dave Gantz

This fabric is 58″-59″ wide, so you will need sew multiple pieces together to create the width you are looking for.

    Hi,

Which sealant should be used for Xenon Sil?

  9. Brian Erickson (verified owner)

Is there an “Outer Fabric Side”? Thank you

    • Alex Thomas

No, both sides are the same on this material.
