This kit may seem like a difficult project but it really was just a lot of small projects to do. First off though- “Coyote brown is a lot closer to poop brown than coyote. The material is slippery and that causes some trouble. I recommend using hem clips. I barely even made a dent in a spool of Mara 70. Get the 3/4 beastie rings. 1/2 is just too small. For xenon sil material i used seamgrip+sil. I sat under it in a downpour for an hour with no leaks. Measure twice – sew once. I have some extra seam seal spots in odd places. The instructions are very good. Read them over and over before you begin. I love the tarp I made.

What kind of thread do you recommend for Xenon Sil?

This kit looks great, before I buy how wide is the finished tarp? I.e. what is the perpendicular length from the ridge to the bottom of the tarp. I am expecting this to be close to the width of the roll….. but what is that, i just don’t want to make any assumptions.
Thank you Andy

The width of the fabric is 58″-60″.

What type of needle should be used to sew the Hexon fabric?

Hi, does this kit produce the same pattern as the “Bonded Wide Xenon Winter Tarp”? I understand that it won’t be bonded, but am interested in the features of that tarp and would be proud to make one myself.

The tarp for this kit would be the same as our Xenon Winter Tarp.
