    Toggles worked like a charm.

Toggles worked like a charm. The loop on one end worked great to attach to the loose end of my kevlar tree straps, keeping my toggles handy everytime I set up my hammock.

Light, strong and they get the job done.

Light, strong and they get the job done. What more could you want in a toggle?

I kept using tent stakes for marlin spike hitches to hold my whoopie slings when all the twigs “I could easily find on the ground” turned out to be rotten.I kept using tent stakes for marlin spike hitches to hold my whoopie slings when all the twigs “I could easily find on the ground” turned out to be rotten. So I could add a couple more stakes to my pack, or the right tool for the job.

    Perfect, light weight, shipped fast

Like everything from Dutch, these are robust and function perfectly. Customer service is always awesome and I’m a repeat customer.

Super light and works!I use these with Kevlar straps and the marlin spike hitch and it works well. Replaced the loop with shock cord to use to wrap the straps, too. Great customer service.

Do they weigh 6.2 or 7.6 grams, and is that for the pair or each?

    • admin

They are 7.6 grams per pair and sold per pair.

If I connect my whoopie sling where the loop is underneath the hitch (instead of traditionally being above), will this form an adequate water break? If not, what do you recommend as a water break for the MSH?

    • Carolyn Palmer

I would recommend either using a small piece of rope or the end of your whoopie sling if there is enough left over and tie it right underneath your tarp on your suspension and you should be fine.

  9. cheynig (verified owner)

I bought these to use with my first set of whoopies and I’ve had no problems at all. They work exactly as advertised, weigh nothing, and help keep my hammock suspension set-up simple.

    Thanks Dutch!

Are these toggles long enough to use with tree straps of 2″ webbing?

    • Carolyn Palmer

They are 2.75″ long so you would be able to use them however it may be a little tight.

  11. brookscb (verified owner)

These are crazy light and strong as can be. Switched from soft shackles to toggles and gained no weight.

  12. saxebryan

Are these strong enough to do the toggle and loop method? Your short on strap, you don’t have enough to do a marlinspike hitch, you have a loop at end of strap, put toggle through loop to hang whoopie sling?

    • Carolyn

You cannot use our toggle in this application as they are not weight bearing. The will only work with the marlin spike hitch.

Perfect size and weight. Just what I was looking for. Amazingly fast shipping and service.

  14. davidkj7

Is the 250 lb weight rating per toggle or combined total weight?

    • Dave Gantz

      Total weight.

  15. Cody (verified owner)

Can these be made a little longer so they can be used with the marlin spike hitch and 2-inch tree huggers? An answer to another question said the standard toggle length would be a little tight.

    • Alex Thomas

Best option would be to send us an email so we can see if we can custom make a pair for you. sales@dutchwaregear.com

I got tired of looking for the right size sticks to use. These toggles weight next to nothing and are so convenient and easy to use.

Can this toggle be used to suspend my hammock from the spider daisy chain webbing as well?
For example, can I insert the toggle in one of the daisy chain loops and have my whoopie sling rest on the webbing directly behind the toggle? Or would that be no different than using the toggle/marlin spike method incorrectly (ie having the woopie sling rest on the toggle as opposed to the knot)? I hope that makes sense.

    • Alex Thomas

I beleive this would put a little much pressure on the toggle. These are meant specifically for the marlin spike hitch suspension where the knot takes the weight.
