This pack hook works with up to 2mm cord. It works with 3/32-inch and 1/8-inch shock cord as well. The thin plastic end is meant to be sewn through to attach this hardware directly to your material.

how do you sew it on? will the needle go through the plastic?

Selinda, that thinner section towards the bottom, but above where you see the holes (that aren’t actually holes, they do not go the entire way through) – it’s that thinner section where you would sew through.
