how well will these hold if I use the spider webbing?

    • admin

With any buckle we recommend to use polyester or the dyneema/polypro as the spider webbing and kevlar do not work well with buckles.

I love my June Bug Buckles. Set-up is a breeze and the tabs on the buckles make adjustment and take-down easy. Combined with Dutch’s 15′ polyester straps, the system is heavier than my other suspension options but sometimes I’m happy to carry a bit more weight for ease of use. I reckon that my buckle/strap combo covers 99% of the tree girth/spacing scenarios in my locale, at least the ones I’d ever want to hang from. I can go from a really tight pitch that’s a squeeze for my tarp all the way up to 30 inch diameter trees spaced 18 feet apart with this system. In terms of value, flexibility and simplicity they work for me and may be worth looking at if you’ve spent time on the good old suspension merry-go-round. The buckles themselves are meticulously finished and super strong.

I got these for my basic hammock setup I’ve had for a few years. When I decided to upgrade to a high end hammock…. I kept these rather than try to find anything better. They are simple to slide to exactly where you want them. Once set up, they don’t shift even when the hammock is loose. You have to physically adjust them each time.
