Description
2 Inch Spider Webbing is one of the lightest 2-inch webbing around. It has a 1500-pound breaking strength and weighs just 3.2 grams per foot. The weave on this webbing is extremely tight compared to other webbing. It has almost no stretch and doesn’t absorb much water. This makes it ideal for hammock suspensions.
Tree huggers have one 3.5-inch loop on each end of the webbing.

When I first opened my package I saw the 2 inch spider web hugger and thought, oh bummer he only sent one and I thought the price was for a pair. Then I actually unwound the hugger to discover that there were indeed 2, 5 foot huggers in the package. Seriously, what kind of magic is this?! They are ridiculously light and fold up to an equally ridiculously small bundle. They must be spun with hair from a unicorn’s mane and woven on a magical loom. I have held off on writing a review until I got a chance to use these huggers on a couple of hangs. They have proven to be just a reliable as the spider/poly huggers I have using. Well, now I will have no problem switching to the more tree friendly 2 inch option. Once again, thanks for the high quality products, ingenious innovations and awesome customer service!

Any particular issues with Marlinspike spiking or Becket hitching this size?

What would you recommend as the best attachment piece? It looks like the regular Dutch Clips would be too small…
Carolyn –
The regular dutch clips would not work as they are made for 1″ straps. You could use a weight bearing carabiner as a quick attachment point.

Can you order these straps with sewn-in Dutch hooks?
Paul Cory (verified owner) –
Will these be coming back in stock? I got a pair back in October and would really like another pair to throw on my loaner hammock, since 2″ straps are required around here.
Lynn Heavrin –
Are the loops strong enough to feed one end through the other or does it require a carabiner to attach around the tree? I usually just wrap my heavy 2” hugger a couple times around and feed one end through the other for smaller trees and larks head my Whoopie to the loop.
Dave Gantz –
Yes, you can feed one loop through the other.

Just received mine a couple of days ago. Like the title, they are very very light. However, they were also very easy to “rip” width-wise by light tugging with my fingers (contrary to Dutchs video). Although they are not likely to be put under stress in this way in actual use (i.e pulling on the sides), it is still concerning.
